Rheingau Inline Tour 2019

First review Rheingau inline tour with party ship (RIT) 2019

Unfortunately it rained during the tour and the streets got wet. Most of the time it was good to skate, only at the beginning the asphalt was slippery.

Thanks …

  • … that you went along despite the „increased humidity“!
  • … that you bored our medics – not a single medic call!
  • … that you created a nice party atmosphere on the steerage – next year we’ll be on the upper deck again without rain! 🙂
  • … that you helped that the minus in the billing is small!
  • … and thanks to everyone who helped to make the RIT a great experience despite the rain!

First photos are online – a larger photo series is still in progress. We would be happy to link your photos!

Flyer RIT/ROS 2019 (1.1 MB)

On Saturday, August 17th, 2019 , it’s „RIT“ again!

The „Rheingau-Inline-Tour mit Partyschiff“ (RIT) has a tradition of more than 10 years! It takes place every summer and is organized by volunteers from the Mainz/Wiesbaden region. Organizer: Roller and Ice Skate Club Wiesbaden 1955 eV (RSC) .

What’s up?

  • Inline tour from Mainz-Kastel to Rüdesheim am Rhein, approx. 31 km
    • Mainly flat roads along the Rhine, after the break approx. 8 km on the B42
    • Accompaniment by the police, paramedics and bus (if you are not fit enough)
    • Break with drinks and cake at low prices in Eltville-Erbach, as well as several short breaks
    • Start 4 p.m. Rheinufer/Reduit Mainz-Kastel, 2nd start approx. 4:30 p.m. Wiesbaden-Biebrich (Rheinhüttenstraße/corner of Rheingaustraße).
  • Bike tour from Wiesbaden-Biebrich to Rüdesheim, approx. 45 km
    • Tour of the vineyards
    • Break with drinks and cake at low prices in Eltville-Erbach
    • Start at 4 p.m. at the level tower (at the bus stop „Wiesbaden-Biebrich Rheinufer/Rheingaustraße“)
  • Party ship – joint return trip on the Rhine with a party on the upper deck .
    • Also possible without participating in an inline or bike tour. Celebrate together with family, friends, …!
    • Departure 7:30 p.m., Rüdesheim, bridge 12
    • You can get off in Mainz (10:00 p.m.) or Wiesbaden-Biebrich (10:30 p.m.), or ….
    • Ship XXL: If you want, you can stay on the ship until after a stop in Rüdesheim (11:30 p.m.; train at 11:53 p.m. to Wiesbaden-Biebrich, Wiesbaden, Mainz-Kastel, Frankfurt) in Assmannshausen (24: 00 o’clock) makes.

Detailed information on how to get there, … further down on this page.

Registration/advance sale/ticket office

Unfortunately, we have to charge a participation fee to cover costs (ship, permits, paramedics, broom bus, etc.).

New: Price reduction in advance sales compared to 2018 – we will reward you if you give us planning security!

Prices and conditions of participation for the tour variants can be found in the links. Prices increase on 04/01/2019 and 08/08/2019.

  • Box office without registration is possible for the inline tour and „ship only“ (if the ship is not fully booked beforehand) – but at a higher price …
    • Inline tour: Before the start in Mainz-Kastel (from around 3 p.m., please be there at least 15 minutes before departure), in Wiesbaden-Biebrich and during the break.
    • „Ship tour without“: Directly on the ship in Rüdesheim
Please give us planning security and register early – thank you 🙂
  • Inline tours without a ship are also possible – no registration required, reduced participation fee directly at the box office.

Important: Helmet & Co.

  • Helmets are compulsory for all inline skaters
  • We also recommend pads (wrist/knee/elbow)!
  • Minimum age for the inline tour: 12 years (vessel: accompanied by legal guardians with no age restrictions)

See also Terms and Conditions and Skate Safety .

Speed, demand and broom bus

Only applies to the inline tour – see information on the bike tour !

  • Very flat route – mountains cannot be conquered, only two small „climbs“ (a few meters in altitude) in Walluf and Eltville. After that it gets even smoother on smooth federal highway asphalt!
  • Route length: 31 km from Mainz-Kastel or 26 km from Wiesbaden-Biebrich.
  • Speed: rear approx. 15 km/h, front faster. So some practice makes sense, but you don’t have to be in great shape.
  • Break(s): There is a 30-minute break in Eltville-Erbach (drinks, cake, toilets) and several short collection stops.
  • A „broom bus“ drives along at the end of the convoy – if you don’t know if you can keep up the pace, you’re cordially invited to try and skate anyway. If you don’t have enough strength, the broom bus will be happy to pick you up and take you to the party ship, after all, this highlight alone is worth the trip.

(Until 2013, the Rheingau Inline Tour was called the „Rüdesheim Tour“.)

What do we do when it rains?

The tour will not be canceled (except in the event of extreme weather such as a hurricane etc.; announcement may first be made on twitter.com/wnsmainz ). Rhine-on-Skates proved that inline skating can be fun even when it’s raining, as you can read in the legendary Rain-on-Skates report at dusfor.de . As long as there is enough space, you can also take the broom bus to Rüdesheim to reach the ship if it rains continuously, alternatively by train (at your own expense).

But – why should it actually rain? 🙂
